The siding and roofing contractor industry can be a large, scary place. Here are the questions to ask before hiring a contractor:

Question: Do they have a sale or discount?

This is most likely a gimmick, sorry! Some siding and roofing companies estimate the cost to be high and create fake deals/discounts to make the price seem like a great deal. This is a trick to make them stick out from their competitors, even though they could be offering a higher than normal price. If you don’t agree to this excessive price, you will most likely be hounded by them time and time again. This is not the proper way to do business. You should go to the company; they should not come to you.

Question: Do they have their own warranty?

Some siding and roofing contractors only offer the manufacturer’s warranty and a one year warranty. Don’t choose a company that goes with the bare minimum. We proudly stand behind our team and their excellent work by offering a five year labor warranty.

Question: What are the contractor’s certifications and licenses?

A quality roofing and siding contractor will have many certifications. Here are Highmark’s certifications and license number:

Question: Is the company insured?

It is very important that the company is insured. You don’t want to be responsible for anything happening on your property. Make sure the name of the insurance is in your contract.

Question: Do they seem like they are pressuring you?

Many contractors only pay their salespeople commission. This results in a lot of unnecessary pressure for you to decide within the first contact if you will chose their services. Siding and roofing is a large investment and no one should be hurrying your decision.

Question: At first impression, how dedicated do they seem to customer service?

We believe you can tell when a reliable contractor cares about their clients. At Exteriors by Highmark, our entire team cares that you get the results you want. We will communicate with you throughout the entire process to ensure you receive the best possible service.
